Your greatest awakening comes, when you are aware about your infinite nature.
― Amit Ray, Meditation: Insights and Inspirations
The simple wooden sign seemed innocuous enough – Yoga Sothoth, it read in looping script. Yet something about it piqued my interest as I drove past each day. Finally, curiosity overcame me and I pulled into the dusty gravel lot.
Inside, soft chanting drifted from the studio as two dozen disciples flowed through poses, led by the center’s mysterious owner, Madhumati. Her presence was mesmerizing, an unearthly grace in every movement. As the class ended, her ebony eyes met mine, as if seeing beyond flesh into depths of soul.
“We teach more than mere exercise here,” she purred, inviting me to stay. Her followers filed out quietly as incense smoke curled. Runes and sigils adorned the walls, their lines flowing and geometric in a style both beautiful and disquieting.
Madhumati led me through halls that seemed to stretch farther than their dimensions allowed, filled with artifacts whose purposes I dared not guess. Her whispers described primordial entities whose names connoted madness, of an omnipresent chaos that was the sum of all possibilities. A blasphemous tome she cradled radiated dread whispers on the edge of hearing.
Returning to the main hall, she took my hands and chanted strange invocations that seemed to rend reality. Her clawed grip became inescapable as her form twisted into a writhing mass of eyes and tails. Her true name rang in my mind as I was pulled down, down, into the forever churning chaos from which there could be no escape. Now I know the true nature of Yog-Sothoth, and the fate that awaits all who enter its twisting halls.
