What strange phenomena we find in a great city, all we need do is stroll about with our eyes open. Life swarms with innocent monsters.― Charles Baudelaire
Are you ready for a stroll in Arkham?
The sun had set as I wandered Arkham’s streets, looking for a good meal. At Luigi’s Italian Restaurant, I found the place deserted. In the back, the chef lay lifeless in a pool of coagulating blood.
I hurried down the road to Vinny’s Barber Shop, hoping for help. The lights were on but the small shop was empty, a single bloody pair of scissors on the floor.
At the town park, the swing set creaked eerily in the breeze. Huddled shapes shifted beneath the trees. As I watched, they dragged something bleeding into the shadows.
The diner should have been busy at this hour but the window was dark, “CLOSED” sign still flipped to “OPEN”. Inside, a scene of carnage like nothing human.
Terrified, I took refuge in the campus cafeteria but found the doors chained shut from within. Desperate pleas and pounding came from behind the glass. Whatever had gripped Arkham with its madness was now coming for me in the night. My scream was cut short in the consuming dark.
